Mini laptop is the newest thing to hit the technology scene. They are perfect for vacation or any type of travel because they are lightweight and only have the bare necessities, usually no extras. Most of them will do no more than allow you to surf the net, and possibly type out text with a word processor.
Some of the more notable brands are Acer, Asus, and Fujitsu. Most of them do not come with extras, but there are a few extras you can get built in if you wish. Some options available are USB ports, megapixel cameras, and built in microphone and headphone jacks.
Mini laptops usually run Windows XP or Linux. They don't run Vista because Vista is a big program and takes up a lot of space. The heaviest mini laptop available is only about 2 pounds. The screens are usually no more than 7 inches at the most. The only potential downside to the smaller size is the keyboard. Most keyboards are too small to type on comfortably, so if you need to work while you travel and that work involves typing you may run into problems.
However, if you mainly just want to surf the internet while you're traveling, it's the perfect little machine. Another added bonus are the fact that not only do they come in a small package, they also come with a small price tag. You will pay much, much less for a mini laptop than you will for a full sized one. |
